Exciting News! 🙌
There is a new Invite Health Opportunities Hub on LinkedIn for Invite Health subscribers! (link to join at the bottom of this newsletter)
Recently, I decided to shift the focus of the Invite Health newsletters to interviewing students pursuing careers in healthcare, and highlighting the opportunities they’ve had.
However, Invite Health started because I wanted to create a platform to share opportunities in health and healthcare for students, as I found that they were difficult to find.
That’s where the Invite Health Opportunities Hub comes in.
About the Opportunities Hub 📰
The Opportunities Hub is a space for Invite Health subscribers to share opportunities in healthcare*, including (but not limited to):
☆ Events (ex: conferences, panels, workshops)
☆ Jobs (ex: research internships, company internships, co-op postings)
☆ Academic resources (ex: opportunities at specific institutions, youtube videos, courses, post-secondary or graduate school resources)
☆ Research (ex: job postings, grants, recruiting participants)
The opportunities posted here will be targeted for students: high school, undergraduate, graduate, etc. Anyone is welcome to post opportunities- all posts will require approval before being shared in the group.
*We encourage sharing opportunities related to health and healthcare, as the opportunities in this field are often difficult to find, but are in high demand. However, the opportunities you post do not have to be related to health and healthcare. As long as they are opportunities that are available and accessible for students, feel free to share them here.
Community Guidelines for the Opportunities Hub 🌻
In this hub, we encourage:
👍 Informative posts: include important details about the opportunity including time commitment, duration, if the opportunity is paid or unpaid, location, etc.
👍 Posts that have a call to action: application deadline, referral to a website/social media, sign-up form, etc.
👍 Friendly and professional networking with fellow group members
In this hub, we discourage:
👎 Spam or repetitive posts
👎 Posts with derogatory and discriminative content
👎 Posting opportunities that require students to spend lots of $$$. Opportunities shared on this platform should be available for students of all financial backgrounds
Join the Hub 🥳
The hub is free for all Invite Health subscribers. You need a LinkedIn account to join the group.
About Invite Health 💌
Invite Health newsletters highlight students pursuing careers in healthcare, and the experiential learning opportunities they've had. Invite Health can also be the start of building a network, learning a new skill, or finding your next opportunity.
How can you get the most out of Invite Health? 🫶
Send cold messages. Reach out to the people who were interviewed when you’re interested in learning more about their journey. At the end of each newsletter, all interviewees leave their contact information for readers to contact them!
Share Invite Health with your friends and networks. Get a conversation going about something new you learned- whether it’s an opportunity, a piece of advice, or a recommendation that an interviewee made.
Apply to the opportunities that are shared in the newsletters! You have nothing to lose, and so much to gain. And circling back to point #1 - always reach out to the interviewees if you want advice from them!
